According to Yonhap News,
North Jeolla Province (Jeonbuk) held the 2nd International Food Cluster Forum last Wednesday at the Western Chosun Hotel Seoul in partnership with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MIFAFF) and Iksan City.
The forum was designed to discuss how the national food cluster supports domestic food companies' entry into the global food market.
About 10 experts, including a world-renowned Canadian professor who specializes in commercialization of agricultural products and an urban planning expert, attended the forum.
The minister of MIFAFF demonstrated plans to establish the national food cluster to nurture the food industry into Korea's future growth engine in his celebration remarks.
A total of 550 billion won will be invested to build the national food cluster which will house 150 food-related companies from home and abroad and 10 research institutes.
