(SEJONG=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and Portugal Foods reached a business agreement on Oct. 20 to promote the national food cluster & industrial complex that is under construction in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.

The business agreement ceremony was held in the Portugal Exhibition Hall in the SIAL Paris (the Global Food Marketplace), which is held from Oct. 19 to 23.

According to MAFRA, the agreement is meaningful in that it is the first follow-up action since the two leaders of Korea and Portugal discussed about cooperation in food industry at the Korea-Portugal Summit last July.

Portugal Foods, established in 2009, carries out activities to build a network and promote its 100 member food companies.
