(JEONJU=Yonhap News) In an effort to propel future growth, Jeonju city of North Jeolla Province aims to nurture the IoT(Internet of Things) and ICT convergence industry in addition to its effort to foster the emerging carbon and drone industry.

The city will actively carry out education and business activities in the knowledge service sector including the IoT and ICT convergence industry which have relatively weak foundation.

As a part of the effort, the Jeonju IT&CT Industry Promotion Agency will begin start-up field training and start-up business implementation in the IoT sector financed with state fund of KRW 450 million.

Through the program, the agency will provide on and offline IT startup education including courses for App/Web, contents, IT convergence, and IoT. Selected teams will be provided with support to start their businesses.

The city also plans to facilitate establishment of the ICT smart media center.
