According to Yonhap News,

(Iksan=Yonhap News) Project for the Gem and Jewelry Industrial Cluster, currently under construction in Wanggung-myeon, Iksan City, North Jeolla Province, is progressing well paving the way for a new leap forward of the region's jewelry industry.

Through the project, a three-story apartment-type factory along with a design and technology center are to be built on the land of 12,734 square meters near the Jewel Palace, the Jewelry Museum and the region's jewel-themed tourists attractions.

Iksan is establishing the cluster in a bid to promote related industries and strengthen competitiveness through integration of jewelry and gem industries encompassing jewelry processing, exhibition, sales, and tourism.

Iksan city plans to complete the project by investing KRW 19.3 billion including the national fund of KRW 12.7 billion.

Groundwork is currently underway with a plan to finish frame construction by the end of this year.
