(JEONGEUP=Yonhap News) Lot sales of the Sosung Agro-industrial Complex in Jeongeup City, North Jeolla Province is well underway in the run-up to the completion. 

Jeongeup City announced that 120,000 square meters of land out of 164,000 square meters in the industrial complex have been sold to four companies. Four other companies are in the process of moving into the 16,500 square meters of land.

Construction of the agro-industrial complex is currently completed 96% and will be fully finished by the end of this year.

The 232,000-square-meter industrial complex, which commenced construction in April 2014 with budget of KRW 17.2 billion won, is currently being sold at 197,000 per per 3.3 square meters.

Main tenants will be food and beverage companies using four kinds of berries (raspberry, mulberry, blueberry, and strawberry) as ingredients, which Jeongeup is nurturing as strategic food businesses.

"The Sosung Agro-industrial Complex is close to Jeongeup KTX Station and adjacent to the Honam and Seohaean Expressway and fully equipped with production infrastructure such as wastewater treatment facility and industrial water supply system," a city official said. "Companies moving into the industrial complex are eligible for various benefits such as reduction in income tax, corporate tax, acquisition tax, registration tax, and property tax."
