According to Newsis News,

(GUNSAN=Newsis News) Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with P&D Solar (SPC) Inc., Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd., Korea Asset Investment Securities Co., Ltd., SCOTRA Co., which have agreed to invest in the 15mW floating solar power system, the world's largest of its kind, in the city.

The floating solar power system will be installed on the unused water surface of the reservoir near the Gunsan No. 2 Industrial Complex.

When complete, the new solar power system will be able to maximize efficiency by utilizing sunlight reflected off the water surface throughout the day, without harming the original function of the reservoir, polluting the water, or destroying the greenery nearby.

The cooling effect of the water will make it 10% more efficient than solar systems based on land.

According to the city, the system is expected to produce an annual 20,000 MWh of electricity, enough to supply 5,600 homes, and equivalent to 5.06 million barrels of oil or 150 10-year-old pine trees.
