According to Yonhap News,

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) The 12th North Jeolla Food Culture Expo is set to take place at the local government building plaza from September 23 to 24, providing an opportunity for visitors to enjoy a wide variety of traditional dishes and health foods that have originated in the province known for its style and tastes.

The expo will feature two cook-offs, one for novel creations and health foods, the other for traditional Jeonbuk dishes.

The New and Health Food Cook Off is open to the general public, including students and immigrants, while local restaurants will be competing in the Traditional Jeonbuk Cuisine Contest.

Visitors to the expo will also have a chance to participate in making a single bowl of bibimbap for 2017 persons, and other traditional dishes.

Noh Yeong-sil of Junbuk's Health and Safety Division noted, "the event will serve as a venue for introducing and promoting tastes particular to the region, for exchanging information, and discovering new delicacies."
