(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) A new small truck production facility is scheduled for construction at the Saeangeum Industrial Complex in Gunsan-si, North Jeolla Province.
Saeangeum Development and Investment Agency Administrator Lee Cheol-Woo, North Jeolla Province Lieutenant Governor for Political Affairs Jin Hong, Gunsan City Mayor Moon Dong-shin, and President of Sam Jin Industry Co. Ltd. Kwon Tae Jin gathered at the Best Western Hotel in Gunsan City on Octer 11 and signed an investment agreement for the new commercial truck assembly and production facility.
At the signing, the participants agreed to cooperate with one another and provide administrative support so that the production goes smoothly.
Based on the agreement Sam Jin plans to spend a total of KRW 29.6 billion until 2020 to build production facilities for 2.5-ton trucks and medium-size low-floor buses at the Saeangeum Industrial Complex.
The company currently makes auto parts at the Wolchon Industrial Park in Gimje-si and the Techno Valley in Wanju-gun.
