(JEONJU=Yonhap News) The 14th International Forum on New & Renewable Energy was kicked off in Buan on October 12 at the Buan New & Renewable Energy Theme Park Convention Center in Buan County, North Jeolla Province.

World-renowned experts and entrepreneurs form the fields of solar energy, wind power, fuel cells and eco-friendly cars will participate in the 2-day event to discuss better ways to commercialize technologies, attract investment and create jobs in new and renewable energy sectors.

Under the theme 'New Energy, New World', the forum will also feature sessions to talk about how to curb global warming,

Eighteen companies including Korea Offshore Wind Power (KOWP) and Doosan Heavy Industries will showcase new products, and eight research centers including the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM) will demonstrate their latest technologies.
