(IKSAN=Yonhap News) On March 9, the City of Iksan in Jeollabuk-do announced its plan for the Stone Product Promotion Center.

The Center consists of exhibition halls for stone products and product mock-ups, a space dedicated to the history of the Iksan stone, and a stone culture space with around 100 stone products.

The city plans to use the center as a venue for the Stone Culture Expo, the National Stone Industry Expo, and stone sculpture exhibitions.

Mayor Jung Heon-Yul said that “the new center will help Iksan rebuild itself as a top stone industry city.” He further stated that “we [the local government] will find and showcase unique and commercially potent stone products to raise the competitiveness of the city’s stone industry.”
