(JEONJU=Yonhap News) On June 28, Jeonbuk-do announced it has selected 15 SMEs with high growth potential as the region's star companies and will support their technological innovation and strengthen their export capacities.

The 15 star companies include BSM, Dae Ryun Industries, Dae-gyuoung Industrial Electronics, DACC Carbon, Union City, Jirisan Hanji Paper and HanWooMul.

The companies recorded average annual sales for KRW 16 billion over 3 years, and helped the region overcome an economic crisis by contributing to employment stability and technological innovation.

Their R&D investments totaled 5.4% of sales, and their 5-year average sales growth was 20.3%.

Jeonbuk Technopark will invest KRW 50 million and provide consulting on entering global markets and establishing a business plan for growth. The technopark will also provide assistance with commercial R&D planning.
