Gimje City, Jeonbuk was selected for a place to establish Smart Farm Innovation Valley, announced the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Smart Farm Innovation Valley will be implemented to create an ecosystem of young smart fam starters and to create a base for high-tech agriculture integrated with techonology innovation.

Government organizations and institues including Rural Development Administration, National Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Korea Food Research Institute are located near Gimje.

In particular, Agri Academy where agricultural experts are nurtured and sent to the whole country, is located in vicinity of the City proving that it is the best region to establish Smart Farm industrial infrastructure and to lead the industry.

As the City hosts the biggest Smart Innovation Valley in the country, it will closely cooperate with Jeonbuk-do, farmers group and Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to create industrial ecosystem for young farmers and nurture smart agricultural and bio science industry through technology innovation.

A city official said, "We will try our best to make Gimje a mecca of high-tech agriculture by securing future technology of the 4th industrial revolution and creating related industrial infrastructure."
