The Provinced announced on October 1 that it will increase the local food markets by two by the end of this year and operate 35 markets.

The number of the local food markets in the province has increased from 15 in 2014 to 33 for the last five years.

The sales of the local food market has increased from KRW 4.8 billion in 2012 to KRW 86.7 billion last year, which around 18 times increase for six years.

The Province also plans to supply local food to public organizations from next year, including cafeteria of the Provincial office and the Rural Development Administration.

"Self consumption has reached its limits as the local food market increased, but supply demand is still increasing," said a Provincial official. "By renting spaces for retail in express rest areas or apartment complexes, we will expand the market for the Province's agricultural products."
