(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) Gunsan City said on December 15 that it will complete construction of the Smart Logistics Center for small businesses by 2021.
The city has acquired KRW 160 million of the total required project amount of KRW 10 billion, and will move on to working design.
The Smart Logistics Center business aims to establish a smart logistics system through installation of refrigerated warehouses for fresh products, low-temperature warehouses, commercial stands, storage depots, and quarantine areas.
The city plans to open the center for a joint use by small businesses, which suffer difficulties due to declining sales and increasing logistics costs from the economic recession.
When the center is complete, the city expects the five-stage distribution structure of "producer-distribution center-sales store-wholesale store-retail store" will be simplified to "producer-distribution center-retail store," strengthening the price competitiveness.
