On June 27, Jeonbuk-do announced that it will strengthen cooperation on economy and investment with Jiangsu province, with which it celebrating the 25th anniversary of sister relationship.
According to Jeonbuk-do, governor Song Ha-jin on an official visit to Jiangsu province, met with the party secretary of the province to discuss measures for mutual cooperation, proposing "3 ways to revitalize economic cooperation".
At the occasion, governor Song said, "We need to enhance cooperation with focus on Saemangeum, which will be the center of Korea-China economic cooperation, for mutual prosperity and development."
He also suggested joint development and utilization of Saemangeum Industrial Complex 5-district to foster it as the central base for Korea-China economic cooperation. He also suggested to increase personal exchanges in culture, academia, and tourism, as well as regular offering of joint IR.
The party secretary emphasized with the need for further economic cooperation, expressing strong will for cooperation.
He said, "We will review the plans for joint investment in Saemangeum Industrial Complex, and pushes for an investment delegation's visit to Saemangeum."
