According to Yonhap News,

North Joella Province announced on Dec. 12 that the local authority will autonomously push ahead with a ‘New Deal Project’, in an attempt to rehab crushed rust belt towns.

This renaissance project, which costs KRW 42 billion, is expected to help reshape and transform old residential area, improve infrastructure for better convenience, embrace a shared platform for community feedback and rebound businesses. The primary approach to the plan is to bring neighborhood development back into the old towns. 182 out of 241 were selected to be refurbished.
