Jeonju city to form a support center to boost drone industry
The city of Jeonju said on Sep 30 that the local government will design a support center to boost and further expand market presence of drone industry. The center to be established near Jeonju HighTech Valley will facilitate a cross-sector partnership by welcoming prospective businesses in the UAV and drone industry. The city has allegedly secured the budgets worth KRW4 billion to kit the center out 25 sets of high-tech equipment publicly accessible to test and develop drone technologies. Until now, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and a dozen of UAV developers gave final confirmation to move into the center.
These new residents are said to pitch in with control system programming and software development, battery solutions and weight lightening. The city will attract and encourage tech-specialists to stay in and help the developers team up with the experts to make full use of facilities.
