A prescription lens maker, LaiMaterials, and a construction materials producer, Kwang Steel (KSC), signed an investment contract to set up a new manufacturing facilities in the city of Gimje ON Nov 17.

With as much as KRW 26.1 billion, glasses lens maker establishes a new assembly lines, that are set to produce safety glasses, goggles and auto-glasses, on a 28,471㎡ site near Gimje industry cluster.

Once the factory starts operation, it’s estimated to add more than 140 new jobs locally. The other signee, KSC, spends nearly KRW 10.9 billion until 2023 on a new manufacturing plant which will spread across 16,469㎡ site inside Gimje business cluster. They announced its employment plan hiring 50 local residents when the factory begins to go into service.
