According to Yonhap News,

Gimje-city, North Jeolla Province held '2021 Business meeting for Chinese market entry' jointly with Jeonobuk office of KOTRA. This business meeting has been prepared for Korean products to open up the Chinese market and get used to overseas markets in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

At this event, China's promising buyer companies identified by KOTRA's Jeonbuk office virtually met with 10 excellent companies located in Gimje. They conducted virtual meetings and real-time broadcasting sales (live commerce) marketing simultaneously.

Gimje-si identified excellent companies manufacturing and selling processed food, mask, and cosmetics in collaboration with Jeonbuk office of KOTRA. 10 companies located in Gimje provided samples and product information to Chinese buyers in advance to make up for the shortages of contactless meetings.

According to Gimje-city, participating companies expressed satisfaction as product delivery and customs are set to be supported once a contract is signed.

A company said "With increasing brand value of Korea, Korea's foods are popular in China," adding "Taking this meeting as an opportunity, we will accelerate our entry to the Chinese market."

Meanwhile, an 'export consultation booth' was also set up for the companies unable to physically participate. Experts in export from the Jeollabukdo Business Agency and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) provided customized consultation to those companies.

Gimje-si, reckoning that un-tact marketing will become the general trend even after the COVID-19 pandemic, plans to support companies to go overseas markets on and offline.

An official from Jeonbuk KOTRA said "we hope to help consumer goods export companies located in Gimje-si with influencer marketing, etc. through live commerce,"

A mayor of Gimje-city said "we will continue to support overseas marketing and identify promising products to help Korean products of world-class quality be exported worldwide."
