According to Yonhap News,

Jeollabuk-do said on August 6 that it will foster the extended Reality (XR) industry, encompassing hologram, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) by providing diverse support to companies in these fields.

Support will be provided through EX materials/parts/equipment development support center, in various ways such as: biz matching between XR enterprises; provision of support for prototype production, commercialization, and XR accessory development.

This center is the only such institution in the field of materials/parts/equipment in Korea and has supported improvement of the industrial competitiveness through establishment of the ecosystem in the immersive contents area.

The companies which are pursuing XR business or preparing for diversification into the XR field can receive support.

The province also added that it will provide free support for XR parts and equipment technology development and test bed, as well as XR material performance evaluation and commercialization test bed.

The applications are due by August 20, and details can be found on the website of Jeollabuk-do (www.jeonbuk.go.kr).
