Jeonbuk National University Hospital announced on August 12 that it was selected for '2nd Competition for Polypharmacy Management Pilot Project' hosted by National Health Insurance Service, as the first one among hospitals and clinics located in Honam area.

A polypharmacy management pilot project is a project to inform older adults or patients with chronic diseases on two or more medications the proper way of taking medications.

Accordingly, doctors, pharmacists, and nurses at Jeonbuk National University will carry out medication intake management and consultation from patients admission to post-discharge.

The project will be run for 8 months starting from this month to March 2022."

An official from Jeonbuk National University Hospital said, "as the number of patients on multiple medications increase, the risk of side-effects is also on the rise," adding "we will promote the proper way of taking medications through this project."
