HDT Co., Ltd., an X-ray manufacturer with the proven technology in Korea, is to set up in the high-tech science industrial complex in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do. The investment agreement was signed on September 9, with the participation of Jeoneup's mayor and the city's director for investment and finance division, and CEO of HDT.

HDT will invest KRW 6.8 billion on a site of 10,899 square meters in the high-tech science industrial complex to build a new factory equipped with production facilities.

Once the design of the plant is completed this year, the construction of the plant will be completed next year, going into full operation with hiring about 50 new employees.

To this end, the city and Jeollabuk-do plan to actively cooperate on all administrative matters such as investment subsidy support and licensing and permission procedures.

HDT, located in Gwangju Metropolitan City, develops and produces safe medical equipment that has significantly reduced the exposure rate to a 1/40 of that of existing X-ray equipment.

As a company equipped with both hardware (X-ray) and software technology, it has been supplying to numerous hospitals, public health centers, and Tuberculosis Associations, and exporting to Turkey, India, and Europe for recognition of its technological prowess.

The medical imaging equipment market has been growing by more than 10% every year driven by the growing demand for medical diagnosis services due to the aging of the population and the need for replacement of digital X-ray equipment. Once the plan of HDT goes into full-operation, an annual sales of more than KRW 10 billion is expected.

Jeongeup's mayor said, "We sincerely welcome HDT, who possesses innovative technology in the production of medical devices, in Jeoneup," adding "we will not spare efforts to provide administrative and financial support so that HDT can grow into an examplary company of Jeongeup."

CEO of HDT said, "I would like to thank Jeongeup-si for its active support for businesses," adding "we will endeavor to become a leading company in the imaging medical equipment production, contributing to revitalization of local economy."
