According to Yonhap News,

Jeollabuk-do announced on April 28 that Innopolis Jeonbuk ranked 1st among the national Innopolis in the comprehensive performance evaluation by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT).

Innopolis Jeonbuk received 90.6 points in the evaluation, attaining higher score than Daedeok, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan Innopolis.

The MSIT decided the scores by combining the performance results during 3 years and deliberation on presentations by local governments, conducted by an evaluation committee composed of experts from the private sector.

Innopolis Jeonbuk recorded the highest grade in 6 quantitative indicators including business performance out of 10 evaluation indicators, and also attained high scores in qualitative indicators reflecting the efforts of local governments.

Innopolis Jeonbuk, launched in 2015, is making efforts in cooperation with 28 institutions, including Wanju Techno Valley, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Composite Materials Technology Research Center, and Jeonbuk National University, on research, technical support, and commercialization of agricultural life science and convergence material parts.

So far, it has made such achievements as: establishment of 170 research institute companies; 418 cases of technology transfer investments; 249 technology startups; and securing KRW 53 billion investment for commercialization support.

Innopolis Jeonbuk will enhance its capability with KRW 2.6 billion that it has secured from the government as an incentive of this evaluation.
