A hydrogen council was launched on May 17, with a goal of playing the control tower role in the creation of Jeollabuk-do hydrogen industry ecosystem.
The council, headed by the Vice Governor Shin Won-sik, is composed of civil servants, provincial council members, university professors, and officials from research institutes, public organizations and safety experts.
The hydrogen council is to set the basic plan for development and support of the local hydrogen industry for the next two years, and deliberate on establishment of policy and support measures.
It will also support discovering large-scale national projects.
In the first meeting, council members discussed the current status of undergoing preliminary study on the green hydrogen production cluster and response measures to the government's hydrogen policy.
