In Jeonju-si, Jeonbuk, workers in the carbon industry combined wisdom to create jobs in the relevant sector based on an agreement between labor and management, civil society and government.

On Aug. 31, the city held the 'Jeonbuk Jeonju-typed Job Co-Prosperity Forum' joined by around 30 people including the personnel at the MInistry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Jeonbuk-do, and Korea Labor Foundation, at the international convention center in Jeonbuk University.

The forum was co-hosted by the Korea Labor Foundation and the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation of Jeonbuk University. And it aimed to share relevant cases in other regions and discuss the plans going forward.

Also, Hong Yang-sook at the Trade Ministry and Chae Yeon-ju, professor at Jeonbuk University gave speeches on 'Successful cases of co-prosperity local jobs and precautions,' and 'Jeonju-typed co-existence and business model' respectively.

Jeonju-si will check on successful cases along with cautionary factors based on the co-prosperity forum, and Jeonbuk Jeonju-typed job is planned to be applied for the co-prosperity job designation by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Sep. 10.

A city official said, "As the deadline for submitting application is nearing, we will monitor various factors so that Jeonbuk Jeonju-typed job would be designated as the Ministry's regional co-prosperity job by the early 2023.
