According to Yonhap News,

Jeonju in Jeonbuk will witness the establishment of smart transport technologies such as the intelligent river water level monitoring system in the region.

Jeonju-si announced that the city was selected for the government-funded '2023 Municipality Intelligence Transport System (ITS)', securing public funds worth KRW 2.4 billion.

And the city was selected for a fifth time in a row.

ITS is the next-generation smart transport system devised for improvement in efficiency and safety of vehicles and transport.

Jeonju-si plans to operated the system by injecting a total of KRW 4 billion by 2024.

An official said, "Jeonju-si would grow into an innovative city well responding to traffic fluctuations based on AI and Big Data."
