Gunsan-si in Jeonbuk was selected as an excellent municipality in the '2021 Evaluation of Excellent Local Government in Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Project' led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
On Sep. 23, the city said the evaluation was based upon the last year's evaluation result of a organization that carries on the senior employment. And hence, three in si and do, 15 in si, gun, and gu were selected according to the ranking system of the organizations in municipalities.
In the region of Gunsan, the Hyorim Welfare Center won the Minister Prize of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and received incentives worth KRW 25 million while the Gunsan Senior Club had the KOWDI(Korea Older Worker Development Institute) award with KRW 15 million.
A city official said, "we were able to win the award thanks to the organization's performance" adding, "we will do out utmost to manage the project for older workers' safe employment and to create more jobs for senior citizens."
The ceremony will be held virtually during the '2020 Senior Job Week' in Seoul.
