Wanju-gun Produce 21 Climate Change Instructors to Shift Citizens' Awareness

Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk pronounced on Oct. 13 that it produced 21 climate change instructors to educate citizens about shifting their awareness.

Wanju-gun has run a training program for climate change instructors since last August.

The curriculum consisted of 60-hour programs from basic classes on climate change, environmental view, energy, ecosystem, resource circulations and water pollution to intensive courses to mock teaching.

The instructors who completed the program took 90 percent of all the courses.

After completing the program, the instructors plan to form a study group to strengthen their professional teaching capability and to continue studying by partnering up with the Eco-Green Environment Research Center.

An official said, "We plan to shift residents' awareness about climate and environment with the help of the instructors," adding, "We also hope that the instructors continuously train themselves and become a professional lecturers in the climate change education field."
