According to Yonhap News,

Jeonsu-si, Jeonbuk launches a festival in an effort to recover embattled street vendors due to the prolonged economic downturn.

The city announced on Oct. 13 that it would start opening the 2nd Street Vendors Dream Festival to support the recovery of local street vendors, starting from mid-October, 

The festival follows the first, one which lasted for roughly two months in 18 places, of which half were street vendors and the other half were traditional shops. To be selected as a business site where the festival is to be held, vendors can apply to the city by Oct. 18.

Vendors who have already received systematic assistance from the government or municipalities are not eligible to be selected for the festival. Among the applicants, judges will pick no more than seven vendors.

A city official said, "for the sake of our street vendor's recovery, we ask for both residents and merchants to pay more attention to the 2nd Street Vendor Dream Festival."
