Gochang-gun in Jeonbuk showed good performance in operating and managing the public sewage, as reviewed by the government.

On Nov. 29, the Ministry of Environment conducted the '2022 public sewage operation & management review' on 161 municipalities nationwide. And Gochang clinched the top position for the second straight year.

Meanwhile, Environment Ministry has reviewed how well the public institutions operate and manage the public sewage system, which the Ministry aims to enhance its effectiveness.

For this year's evaluation, 161 municipalities were categorized into four groups by the number of their population, and the review was carried out by the standard of 32 items in three fields, including the public sewage operation, management, and policy.

Shim Deok-seob, head of Gochang, said, "We will actively improve the sewage facilities while complying with the public sewage policies to preserve the county, which is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve."
