According to Pulse by Maeil Business News Korea,

South Korea’s leading livestock and animal feed company Harim Group will introduce an artificial intelligence robotics system at all of its affiliated units for logistics automation to keep food fresh and minimize waste in the delivery to the market.

It would be the industry’s first case of logistics automation using AI robots in small cold storage warehouses for food products in Korea.

According to industry sources on Wednesday, Harim is setting up a test bed for an automated logistics system at its food processing factory in Iksan, North Jeolla Province prior to the employment of AI logistics system Spider-Go developed by local startup Tactracer.

The company plans to test out the technology first at the Iksan plant and then apply it to all sites of its affiliated units including Farmsco, Sunjin and Harim Pet Food.

With the AI robots, Harim aims to improve the production and management efficiency to provide freshest foods for customers while minimizing the waste rate of inventories with big data-based demand forecasting, which will be helpful to enhancing profitability.

AI robots in cold storage warehouses can help monitor the incoming and outgoing data in real time and detect changes in temperature and humidity or a fire risk early on.
