According to Yonhap News,

The Jeonbuk Education Office announced that it would push forward the legislation of the "Basic Ordinance for the Education and Human Rights Enhancement," first in Korea on Feb. 20.

And the office said it would accept comments until Mar. 12.

The enactment of the Education Human Rights Ordinance aims to form a favorable school environment where the human right of every subject of education is respected. In so doing, the Jeonbuk Education Human Rights Center, a system that protects the rights of both students and teachers, is to be built.

The ordinance is meaningful in that it establishes a legal foundation and support system to protect the human rights of school members, and builds a dedicated organization that provides services such as consultation.

Out of 17 provincial and municipal offices of education, Jeonbuk is the only one that has set up a system to safeguard students' human rights.

Any organization or individual can submit one's comments on the legislative proposal to the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education until Mar. 12.
