According to Yonhap News,

Boosted by the national high-tech industrial complex designation, Iksan-si in Jeonbuk goes into full force to implement the second stage for the national food cluster.

In line with the government's stance to swiftly promote the project, the city on Mar. 29 said that it had entered an administrative process of establishing the industrial complex.

First and foremost, the city plans to carry out work consultations with related institutions so as to accelerate the project and to decide on a project implementer at the earliest.

Furthermore, as the government pledged to support the one-stop service for approval and permission', the city is slated to complete a preliminary feasibility study on the public institution by the end of this year.

And Iksan forecasts that it would be possible to break ground on the complex in 2026 as soon as the second stage is announced to be approved after the administrative process.

A total of KRW 385.5 bn is injected into the project and a 2.07 square meter cluster will be constructed near the existing national food cluster industrial complex by 2028.

When the first stage was centered around food manufacturing, the second will focus on future industrial complex where people can visit, exhibit or experience, or the food culture industrial complex.
