A Washington Senator and member of the House of Representatives Visits Jeonju to Expand Exchanges

A US senator and members of the House of Representatives in Washington, a sister city of Jeollabuk-do were on a visit to the region in Korea to further expand their exchanges.

A delegation including Senator Chris Gildon, Representative Keith Goehner, and Representative Mari Leavitt and other members arrived in Korea on May 9 and took a tour of Kcarbon (Korea Carbon Industry Promotion Agency) and related businesses the day after.

They met with Governor of Jeonbuk Province Kim Gwan-young on 11th and shared opinions about carbon issues, joint dispatch of officials and public diplomacy.

The delegation will visit Saemangeum New Port, the smart waterfront city, Iksan Mireuksa Temple, Sunchang Gochujang Village, Jeonju Hanok Village during 2 days until 13th and will leave for the US after attend to the opening ceremony of ASIA PACIFIC MASTERS GAMES 2023 (APMG).

"For the last 30 years the cooperation between Jeollabuk-do and Washington state have been made mainly revolving around cultural exchanges, but further than that, we will expand the area where we closely work together to include agricultural products, carbon, and the cultural industry." said Jeonbuk Province Kim Gwan-young emphasizing practical efforts in collaboration.
