2023 Korea Cultural Foundation Expo kicked off on July 5 at Factory of Contemporary Art in Palbok to facilitate cultural dialogues and exchanges.

Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the local government of Jeonju city and the Association of National Cultural Foundation (the Association), the event was held to exchange insights on art and boost cultural values in local areas.

The Association comprises 119 local cultural foundations and 17 those of metropolitan cities.

Some 50 attendees, including Assemblyman Kim Yoon-duck, Park Jung-ja, the head of Gwanak cultural center, Lee Gi-dong, Chairman of Jeonju City Council, Choung Byoung-gug, Chairman of the Arts Council Korea, graced the occasion with their presence.

Baek Ok-sun, the president of the Association, made an opening speech saying "This expo holds some great significance in that it serves as a platform that assures us that art and culture is critical to promote social innovation and allows exchanges of cultural values. Taking this opportunity, I hope all the participants will freely share their cultural ideas and knowledge without feeling any barriers, while pursuing cooperation."

It was followed by a session to announce the vision they set for development of culture and art with three core values, open communication, break through, and proactive.

2023 Korea Cultural Foundation Expo will run until July 7 at Factory of Contemporary Art in Palbok.
