According to Yonhap News,

Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk province said on July 7 that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kakao Makers, a group-buying platform as an arm of Kakao Corp., to expand distribution channels of its agricultural products.

The recent MOU will bring opportunities for new farmers and those returning to farming, not to mention local farmers to secure reliable sales channels when they are in difficulties due to extreme weather events or agricultural overproduction.

By pre-ordering products as an intermediary, Kakao Makers ensure farmers predict demand in advance and supply products without the hassle of excess stock.

"The County Office will be actively engaged in promoting locally-grown produce and food to help local farmers to be a seller of Kakao Makers." Yoo Hee-tae, Governor of Wanju said.
