World Drone Festa 2023, which explores the current state of drone leisure sports and the drone industry, kicked off at the General Sports Town in Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do on October 6 for a four-day schedule.

The Festa, held under the theme of "The Global World United by Drone," consists of the FAI World Drone Racing Championship, the FAI e-Drone Racing Cup, the global drone industry exhibition and conference.

The FAI World Drone Racing Championship is the most prestigious competition organized by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) in which drones race along the course avoiding obstacles. National teams from more than 40 countries around the world will participate to determine the world's best drone pilots.

The FAI e-Drone Racing Cup is an online game version of the World Drone Racing Championship.

The Global Drone Industry Exhibition is an event to examine the latest trends and future development of the drone industry, with more than 70 drone companies and organizations participating.

The exhibition hall consists of a drone delivery and transportation system hall, an open-field agricultural smart farm hall, a drone soccer hall, a drone infrastructure hall, a drone demonstration library, and a drone companies' hall.

At the conference, about 30 drone experts from home and abroad will make presentations on the subject of sports, smart farms, delivery, high-tech unmanned systems, and future aviation mobility using drones.

In addition, other events have also been prepared including aerospace experience, flight simulator and drone production experience, metaverse and AI experience events, and drone light shows.
