"Fermentation, the Future of K-FOOD," International Fermented Food Expo to open on Oct.26

On October 11, Jeollabuk-do and the Jeonbuk Institute for Food-Bioindustry announced that the "21st International Fermented Food Expo" will be held for five days, starting from October 26 at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

About 300 food companies and organizations in Korea will participate in the Expo, showing and selling 2,000 various fermented foods under the slogan of "Fermentation, the Future of K-FOOD."

More than 40 companies from 13 countries around the world, including the United States, Italy, Australia, and Greece, will also set up booths to showcase their traditional fermented foods.

About 50 qualified buyers from home and abroad will hold export consultations with companies on the site, as well as export consultations and promotional activities to be conducted through online and live commerce.

There will also be several special programs including a special K-FOOD exhibition, a Food Tech R&D product exhibition, and an exhibition of food masters from Jeollabuk-do.

Various experience events, cooking classes, and cultural performances will also be provided.

An official from the Jeonbuk Institute for Food-Bioindustry said, "This Expo is emerging as a global food exhibition satisfying companies, buyers, and visitors all", adding "we will develop this Expo as a venue to present new export market and vision for food companies and spearhead the efforts of Jeollabuk-do to become a capital of agricultural biotech industry."
