According to Yonhap News,

The groundbreaking ceremony for the "Challenge Theme Park," the first private tourism development investment project in Saemangeum, was held on November 28 at the project site in Daehang-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.

Challenge Theme Park is a long-stay type tourism facility that will be built with an investment of KRW 144.3 billion, with a goal of completing construction in 2026 and starting operation from 2027.

Along with accommodation facilities such as resort condominiums and detached villas, theme parks such as performance and commercial facilities, and Ferris wheels will be built nearby.

Hanwha Hotel & Resort, a hotel service company, will participate in the operation, providing well-ordered tourism services.

The Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency (SDIA) expected that once this project is completed, a new tourist hub of Saemangeum will be created in conjunction with nearby attractions such as the Saemangeum PR Center and the National Saemangeum Reclamation Museum.

The project is expected to create 1,600 annual jobs with the economic ripple effect of up to KRW 143.8 billion.
