According to Yonhap News,

On January 3, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do, announced that it will build a "natural cosmetics test and inspection clinical center" in the Noam-dong industrial complex by next year.

The center will be responsible for testing and inspecting whether cosmetics made of natural materials are suitable for the human body and conducting skin clinical trials.

A total of KRW 19 billion will be put into establishing a four stories-building on a 4,261㎡ site with a total building area of 1,417㎡, which will be equipped with various equipment.

When the center is built, the cluster, created by the city to lay the groundwork for becoming the hub of the cosmetics industry will be completed.

The city has previously established related infrastructure such as Cosmetics Biz Center, Cosmetics Industry Support Center, Natural Cosmetics Raw Material Production Facility, and Excellent Cosmetics Manufacturing Facility, and has attracted related companies.

Namwon's mayor said, "the center will provide one-stop services not only to companies within the cluster, but also to cosmetics companies in nearby Jeollanam-do and Gyeongnam," adding, "it will play a key role in revitalizing the local economy while solidifying the city's status as a hub city for the cosmetics industry."
