According to Yonhap News,

Jeonbuk announced that it will push for the future industries including smart factory, defense industry, and bio industry this year after attracting secondary-battery companies in a large number last year.

With smart factory, the province aims to hire 30 people from large companies and channel them into metors in 300 local SMEs over the three years.

For example, Narichan, a smamrt-type kimchi factory in Iksan, had support of 3 people from Samsung Electronics, who stayed there for 8 weeks, which resulted in exponential sales growth.

In this case, productivity went up after applying robots to the processes, which used to be difficult-to-access by humans.

Furthremore, Jeonbuk signed MOUs with defense-related national agencies to attract anchor companies (leading companies).

In line with governor's new year's message, the state plans to push for attracting smart factory, defense, and bio industries this year.
