Iksan-si, Jeonbuk State has signed an investment agreement with Soymi Food, a company specializing in tofu production, on May 8.
Under the agreement, Soymi Food plans to invest KRW 13 billion to build a factory in the National Food Cluster located in Iksan-si, creating around 50 new jobs.
The investment site has been designated as a Opportunity Development Zone over five years, allowing Soymi Food to benefit from tax and financial incentives, including exemptions from corporate taxes and additional subsidies.
Soymi Food, a food company established in Gyeryong-si, Chungnam, has continued to grow steadily in the domestic market and is now seeking to expand into international markets.
The CEO of Soymi Food stated, "We are honored to invest in the national food industry hub and plan to expand our business with swift investment implementation, contributing to the development of Iksan-si."
The Mayor of Iksan-si expressed gratitude to Soymi Food for its decision to invest in Iksan, believing in its future value despite the domestic and global economic challenges. He added, "We will spare no efforts in supporting the stable settlement and growth of companies investing in our city."
