Quantum Computing and AI companies to have competition and seminars in Jeonju on Aug. 18-19

The "Quantum AI Competition" and "Quantum Computing Seminar" aimed at fostering collaboration between industry, academia, and government to build a quantum industry ecosystem will be held at Jeonju University on August 18-19.

The competition is organized by quantum computing company Norma, Artificial Intelligence Factory, Kakao Enterprise, and Jeonju University, with the support of Jeollabuk-do Province.

The competition will involve implementing and demonstrating quantum AI algorithms in a quantum cloud computing environment, with 10 teams that pass the preliminary round competing over the course of a two-day event.

The top 5 winning teams will receive a total prize of KRW 6 million, with special awards including the Jeonbuk State Governor’s Award and Kakao Enterprise Corporate Award.

A seminar on "The Future of Quantum Cloud Services" will also take place.

Mike Piech, Vice President of quantum computing company Rigetti Computing, will present on "Quantum Computing Technologies and Products," while Jo Eun-sung, CEO of inCerebro, a company incorporating quantum mechanics in drug development, will discuss "Quantum Computing in Drug Development: Reality and Future." Jeong Hyun-cheol, CEO of Norma, will present on "The Necessity of Multi-Quantum Cloud."

An official from Jeonbuk State stated, "We will successfully push forward projects such as the Jeonbuk State Physical AI project and quantum technology verification and consulting."
