According to Yonhap News,

Samsung Electronics' Smart Hub Complex (Logistics Center) in Gochang, Jeonbuk State, began construction on November 10th.

Samsung Electronics, along with Jeonbuk State and Gochang County, held a groundbreaking ceremony at the Gochang New Vitality Industrial Complex to officially start the construction.

Samsung Electronics will invest a total of KRW 350 billion in this complex to build a logistics center aimed at establishing a distribution network in the southern region.

The site, covering 181,625 square meters—equivalent to 25 soccer fields—will feature an advanced logistics center with autonomous robots and state-of-the-art automation facilities, expected to be completed by 2027.

The provincial government expects that when the logistics center is completed, more than 500 direct and indirect jobs will be created, and an industrial ecosystem linking small and medium-sized logistics, transportation companies, and partner companies in the region will be established.

Park Soon-cheol, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, pledged, "Samsung Electronics will fulfill its social responsibility and strive to make the Gochang Smart Hub Complex a model case of development in cooperation with local businesses."

Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk State, remarked, "The Gochang Smart Hub Complex is a key project that will redefine the industrial landscape of the southwestern region of Jeonbuk State. We will continue to promptly address any business-related challenges and provide full administrative support after the groundbreaking."
