Jeonbuk-do Attracted 126 Complex Last Year, Potential Investment of KRW 11 Trillion

According to Yonhap News,

 

Jeonbuk-do (North Jeolla Province) said on January 5th that the number of companies which have moved into the region exceeded 100 for the fourth consecutive year in 2010.

 

A total of 126 companies are certain to come to Jeonbuk, and their investment is planned to be KRW 11,260 billion. The Province expects that 12,000 jobs will be created.

 

Three companies will make large-scale investment of over KRW 100 billion and create more than 300 people in Buan, Gunsan, and Iksan. Twenty seven companies will make investment of KRW 5 ~ 100 billion. The number of foreign companies is 21.

 

Those companies were previously located in the Seoul metropolitan area (56), Gyeongsang Province (14), South Jeolla Province (10), and Chungcheong Province (8).

 

By industry, 23 companies are in the metal and mold industry, 18 in the chemical industry, 16 in the machinery and equipment industry, 14 in the new and renewable energy industry, 13 in the vehicle and auto parts industry, 11 in the ship parts industry, and 9 in the food and beverage industry.

 

Manager Yu Hui-suk of Investment Promotion Division of the Province said “we focused on attracting companies in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gyeongsang Province,” and added “this year, we will be committed to inducing large and foreign companies in high-tech materials such as photovoltaic, secondary battery, and LED.”
