The Saemangeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone(SGFEZ) signed a cooperation agreement with Tianjin New Coastal District, one of the three special economic zones in China.

Heads of the SGFEZ and the Tianjin News Coastal District agree to cooperate for the development of the two economic zones.

They will conduct joint investment promotion activities and support each other in attracting businesses.

Lee Myung-no, head of the SGFEZ, said that the cooperation agreement will lay the foundation for the two regions to become an economic and tourism hub in Northeast Asia.

Tianjin New Coastal District is showing the fastest growing pace among the three special economic zones.

An official from the SGFEZ said that the Tianjin New Coastal District has a lot in common with the SGFEZ as it is promoting industries and tourism at the same time. The SGFEZ needs help from Tianjin New Coastal District in attracting Chinese companies.
