According to Yonhap News,
OCI, a photovoltaic system maker, pledged to set up photovoltaic systems in 30 elementary schools in Jeonbuk free of charge as part of its project named Solar School.
OCI said on August 24 that it signed a MOU on the free installment of photovoltaic system in elementary schools.
The company will provide a free repair and maintaining service for the next three years.
The company will expand this project to schools in remote areas.
OCI is contributing to the economy of Jeonbuk, operating a polysilicon factory in Gunsa, an ingot factory in Jeonju, peroxide and FS insulator factories in Iksan.
It plans to recruit 4,000 employees and build a polysilicon factory and cogeneration plant by investing KRW 10 trillion in Saemangeum industrial complex by 2020.
