International Cheese Symposium to be Held in Imsil

According to Yonhap News,

An international symposium to foster the cheese industry will be held from October 19 to 22.

The symposium is hosted by Korean Society of Food Science of Animal Resources, Korean Society of Dairy Science and Technology, and Korean Society of Lactic Science and Bacteria under the theme of 'Science and Technology Innovation of Dairy Products and Lactic Acid Bacteria'.

The symposium will be joined by dairy products experts of various countries including Japan, Norway and Ireland.

Korean professors will also participate to present their research result on cheese, fermented milk, and lactic acid bacteria, and the current status of the cheese industry.

From October 20 to 21, the meeting of international fermented villages will also open. In the meeting, participants will present strategies to globalize the Imsil cheese industry, and to foster the fermented food industry.

During the meeting, about 20 staff members from embassies will participate in the cheese-making program.

An official from Imsil county said that the symposium will serve as a great opportunity to globalize the cheese industry.
