According to Yonhap News,

The construction for cogeneration power plant within Saemangeum Industrial Complex will be completed one year ahead of schedule, which will accelerate investment promotion.

Korea Rural Community (KRC) said on Feb. 14 that "OCI Consortium expressed its willingness to purchase the 16.5 ha-site (about 50,000 pyeong) for building cogeneration plant within Saemangeum Industrial Complex No. 2."

Reportedly, OCI Consortium plans to supply heat and electricity generated by the power plant not only to photovoltaic materials (polysilicon) factories but also to other companies occupying the industrial complex.

OCI Consortium will complete the construction by Mar. 2014.

The 255 ha-industrial complex No. 2 that is under reclamation construction is expected to be occupied by many companies.

A staff at KRC said, "The early establishment of cogeneration power plant will make it unnecessary for companies within the complex to install the independent power plant, making a greater contribution to cost reduction and investment promotion."
