According to Yonhap News,

Jeonju City in Jeonbuk (northern Jeolla Province) known as a traditional cultural city is expected to see a growing number of Chinese tourists.

A group consisting of principals of private schools in Dalian, China, visited the city on February 23 and promised to bring their students to the city for school trip in July.

About 350 students from 7 schools in Dalian will visit Jeonju.

The principals chose the city as their school trip location considering that the city is the perfect place for their students to experience traditional Korean culture.

They are planning to make their students participate in experience programs, such as making Korean traditional paper.

Not only the students but also Chinese adults will visit Jeonju.

Next month, about 200 Chinese people will come to the city to watch a soccer match between Jeonbuk Hyundai and a Chinese team and about 1,000 old people stay in the city for two nights and three days in April.

"Our continuous efforts to keep traditional Korean culture seem to draw interests of Chinese people. We are planning to develop various tour programs and enhance promotion activities to attract more Chinese tourists," said the city mayor Song Ha-jin.
